Areas of Practice

Dissolution Mediation

Mediation allows couples to retain greater control over the ultimate resolution of all aspects of their dissolution, in a cooperative and cost effective environment.  The combination of compromise and financial savings means clients are better positioned to complete the entire process out of court and co-parent constructively in the future.

unbundled services

Debra offers partial legal services, consultations and document preparation for those clients with limited financial resources or those that have partially worked their way through the dissolution process. Unbundled Services allows the client to manage their costs while seeking the specific assistance they need.

Dissolution representation

When you have made the decision to proceed to dissolution, Debra will represent you throughout the process with the goal of working cooperatively with your spouse or their attorney to handle all document preparation in a timely manner, attempting to minimize conflict and the need for court intervention.

estate planning

Debra started her legal career in estate planning in 1994.  She continues to assist families in creating an Estate Plan that includes a Revocable Family Trust, Pour-over Wills, Advanced Healthcare Directives and Durable Power of Attorney documents for both spouses.  She also has a single person trust package available for individuals wanting to re-establish their financial planning after dissolution at a reasonable package price.

renew Program

ReNew (Rebuilding for a New Future) is an advocacy program that Debra has created to meet the physical, emotional, financial and practical needs of an individual facing dissolution.  It is a ten session program that equips the individual to take care of themselves, recognize their strengths, and start a new future as a single person with hope and anticipation.

free consultation

Debra offers one free 30 minute legal consultation for any area of practice.  The consultation can be done in person or by telephone at your mutual convenience.  If your consultation requires additional time, you will be charged in one tenth hour increments at her current hourly rate due at the time of service.  See more information under the "services" tab above.

The way through a broken marriage does not have to be in conflict. The better remedy is in recognizing your mutual love for your children and in humble expressions of forgiveness and cooperation. It is stepping away from your hurt and history and being open to compromise and healing in order to rebuild a new future as individuals and as parents.
